Courses information

The students of the master programme will acquire a deep knowledge of computer science and networking fundamentals and specialized knowledge in ICT aspect, such as:

  • distributed systems and enabling platforms, service oriented architectures, high-performance computing, pervasive & mobile computing,
  • access networks at various scale levels, transmission and optical technologies, traffic engineering models and techniques
  • paradigms, programming models and tools for QoS-driven design methods and techniques in analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and verification.

Such expertise will be developed through excellence courses given by Sant’Anna School and University of Pisa faculty members, as well as National Research Council (CNR) Scientists, and National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT) researchers.

The two-year programme is structured in traditional front lectures and in laboratory sessions, and it is divided in 4 semesters. All classes are given in English.

Each year comprises 60 ECTS credits. The first year consists of various mandatory and fundamental learning activities, while activities in the second year are mostly elective. This allows students to specialize in a subject of their choice for their final dissertation by selecting elective advanced courses.
